"Harry Potter Cake"
Happy 21st Birthday Taylor!

Taylor wanted to celebrate her 21st Birthday with a special cake. She loves Harry Potter and sent me a picture of a cake she liked. As you all know, I don't like to copy cakes and for me the challenge was to make her a better version of the cake she liked.  I had a lot of fun making this cake!  Everything you see on it was edible, except the glasses.

Here is the cake I made:

Here is the picture Taylor sent me:

If you want to know how I made this cake, check out the pictures below...

Bottom cake: A (3) layer Red Velvet 8' Cake with Cream Cheese Filling covered with Butter-cream Icing

I iced the cakes with butter-cream icing flavored with cream cheese extract

Second tier: A (3) layer Red Velvet 7' Cake with Cream Cheese Filling covered with Butter-cream Icing

Time to cover the cakes with fondant using some texture tiles.

I sprayed the bottom cake with some edible color spray (gold)

Emblem made out of fondant and colored with color dust.  The picture printed on edible paper.

The scarf made out of fondant too!  Used a combination of colors to get that particular red.

Wan made out of rice crispy square and covered with fondant.

Banner made out of fondant and colored with color dust.  I also used the texture tiles to make it look like wood.

Sorting Hat made out of rice crispy square and covered with fondant.  Looks very realistic!

The second tier!  Books made out of fondant and colored with color dust.  I used also the silicone molds to add details.

Used some color dust here and there...

Stacking the cakes:  I used plastic and wood dowels for the cakes.   These was a heavy cake and I had to make sure that it will stay in one piece.

Thank you and I will see you again soon!

"A SNOWY FANTASY"

I knew that one day, somebody will order a "Frozen" Cake from me.  It is not a surprise that this movie has been a total phenomena.  Girls all over the world want a Frozen cake.  You can find lots of pictures in the internet but, I am an artist and I don't like to copy what somebody else did.  I like to create and let my imagination fly.

When somebody asks me to make a cake from a movie, I thing about all the characters from that particular movie.  In this case I decided to use "Olaf", a cute snowman character.  He is fun and cute and he loves snow, for that reason snow flakes seamed like a good idea.  Below you will see how I assembled the cake.  I hope you like my cake and this will inspire you to create amazing designs and remember to have fun in the process!

Assembling the cakes:

Vanilla Cake with Vanilla Filling colored in Frozen Blue (Bottom 10' cake)

Vanilla Cake with Vanilla Filling colored in Frozen Blue (Top 6' cake)

Chocolate Cake with Vanilla Filling colored in Frozen Blue (Middle 8' cake)

Icing the Cakes with Buttercream

Rolling out the Fondant

Covering the cakes with Fondant

Stacking the cakes:
In order to stack the cakes, I used wood dowels to make sure that the cake will stay in one solid piece.

Decorating the cake:
Now comes the part where I let my imagination fly...
