"Kulich, a traditional Russian Eastern Cake"

Kulich is a sweet yeast-risen bread typically served at Easter, is traditional in the Orthodox Christian faith and is eaten in countries like Russia, Belarus, Bulgaria, Romania, Ukraine, Georgia and Serbia. It just wouldn't be Easter Sunday in Russia without a piece of this tall, cylindrical bread that has been blessed by the parish priest. Another standby for Easter is paskha, a sweet molded cheese dessert that is often spread on a slice of kulich. 

Kulich is a cross between a bread and a cake with a slightly sweet crumb. As with most foods, the recipe varies from family to family. But it usually has raisins, nuts and candied citrus rind.

It's time for a general house cleaning and for adorning every corner with flowers."

Fish is forgotten and hams, piglets, poultry and lamb take over the kitchens."

The story behind the cake!

I was asked to make an electric guitar as a cake for a teenage boy's Birthday. The boy was really passionate about music.  He had a guitar design in his mind that he loved and he emailed me the picture.  I designed a 3D guitar for him using a piece of cardboard.  The teenager thought that, I would make a picture of the guitar on top of the cake but, I couldn't resist to make something special for him.   Around 01:00 am in the morning I was so tired that I couldn't finish the strings of the guitar, my hands were shaking.  I went to bed and woke up around 6:00 am.   I went directly to finish the cake.   It was my first cake order!

Spring is around the corner!
When Spring comes, I feel inspire!...  and today I decided to make a special cake.  A cake that will inspire others to learn, how easy and fun cake decorating can be.  Happy beginning of Spring!

This is a two tier cake.  The bottom cake is a chocolate cake with coconut filling inside and the top tier is a vanilla cake-pop flavor cake.  Both tiers covered with fondant.  All the flowers and the bunny parts are made from fondant and gum paste.  The face of the bunny, the border and the leaves glue to the fondant are made from fondant.

The story behind the cake!

One of my clients asked me to make a cake for her daughter's birthday. She wanted a "Snow White Cake".  She sent me an E-mail requesting the cake for Sunday.  The week of the birthday, I was sick but, I knew that I had to prepare everything ahead of time, just in case.  The Saturday prior the birthday party, I had the layers of cake, the icing and the only thing missing was me decorating the cake.  At 9:30 am I got a call, my client wanted to know if the cake would be ready for the afternoon.  I was surprised to know that the Birthday Party was actually on Saturday and not on Sunday. Mistakes happen so I had to do something and make sure the cake would be ready before 3:00 pm.  The cake was ready and here is the result.  




Do always your best, people will appreciate that.  The face of that girl that day was priceless!
